Clinical Sales Specialist – South Island, New Zealand

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Clinical Sales Specialist to join our regional sales team, supporting customers across New Zealand’s South Island. The successful candidate may be based in either Christchurch or Dunedin.

About the role

As a Clinical Sales Specialist, you will promote and sell Dentsply Sirona’s portfolio of dental consumable products within your assigned territory. You will focus on developing strong customer relationships, increasing market share and identifying new opportunities while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Working alongside our Sales Manager, Product Managers and other specialist sales colleagues, you will develop and execute territory plans aligned with regional objectives and national product strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual territory sales plan to achieve or exceed agreed sales and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dental professionals, key decision-makers and industry opinion leaders.
  • Identify new business opportunities and increase product adoption and market penetration across the territory.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to monitor customer needs, industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Develop and deliver clinical education activities in collaboration with internal specialists, technical demonstrators and external key opinion leaders.
  • Provide product information, demonstrations and ongoing clinical support to customers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinate with internal teams to resolve enquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Analyse territory and portfolio performance and implement appropriate actions to support target achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader sales and support teams to identify and leverage cross-portfolio opportunities.
  • Maintain current product, clinical and market knowledge through ongoing training and self-directed learning.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and proactively report potential risks or safety concerns.

About you

You are a relationship-focused sales professional who combines commercial drive with a genuine interest in helping dental professionals achieve positive clinical outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • Demonstrated sales experience in a similar territory-based or customer-facing role.
  • Experience in the dental, healthcare, medical device or related industry is highly desirable.
  • A relevant degree, certificate or clinical qualification is preferred.
  • Formal sales training would be advantageous.
  • A sound understanding of the sales process and consultative selling.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation and communication skills.
  • The confidence to provide product education and engage with dental professionals.
  • A high level of personal drive, initiative and accountability.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative regional team.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly across the assigned South Island territory.
  • The right to work in New Zealand without employer sponsorship.
