The Process Engineer, Logistics is responsible for leading and supporting strategic and tactical initiatives across the distribution site(s). This role focuses on improving customer experience, driving continuous improvement, optimizing workflows, and waste elimination within their area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead site-wide improvement efforts by leveraging the Dentsply Sirona Excellence, Lean Enterprise System, Global Services Integration, and other methodologies.
  • Drive automation, technology, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in site operations.
  • Facilitate and contribute to the strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives to improve operational performance across the site(s) in accordance with the DSX Business Improvement platform.
  • Develop and execute against the site Lean Enterprise Roadmap.
  • Create process flow maps, SOPs, WIs, and procedures and conduct necessary training.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance site operational effectiveness.
  • Drive adoption and sharing of best practices across the site. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and execute sustainable solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving activities and implement actions to address.
  • Evaluate and optimize functionality within the ERP and WMS platforms.
  • Utilize project management principles in managing key initiatives for site.
  • Analyze and plan the warehouse layout and workflows to maximize space utilization, improve material flow, and eliminate waste.
  • Manage hardware and associated applications utilized in the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Other duties, as required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or other technical specialty.

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 4+ years of engineering and/or continuous improvement experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies and principles.
  • Hands-on experience in logistics or manufacturing automation, systems integration, and process optimization.
  • Proven experience with the identification and implementation of best practices.
  • Prior experience working collaboratively across numerous business functions and cultures in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and related tools.
  • SAP, or other ERP, experience with order, warehouse, and/or transportation management.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerBI.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.) is strongly desired.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Certifications/Licensing:

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Other advanced problem-solving certificates (8D, 8 Step)
