Scope

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing diagnosis of problems, repairs and necessary

preventive maintenance on all plant equipment including automated machines, communication systems, alarms,

and HVAC. Work will require an in-depth knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with repairs

and installations.

 

Essential Functions

· Follows all pertinent company Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).

· Repairs complex electrical equipment including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, communication

systems, and alarms.

· Relocates and installs electrical and mechanical equipment with minimal instructions after general assignment.

· Diagnoses problems and trouble shoots equipment failures; makes repairs or replaces parts.

· Performs tests on equipment and makes necessary adjustments for successful operation of equipment.

· Installs power, light, electronic, and control circuits.

· Performs preventive maintenance on all plant equipment including automated machines, communication

systems, alarms, and HVAC.

· Dismantles, repairs and reassembles pneumatic hand tools, cylinders, & gear boxes.

· Performs fabrication, assembly, welding, cutting and pipefitting.

· Completes routine paperwork as required

· Operates production equipment to check work as required

· Must be available for Call-In repairs on off shifts.

· Provides technical assistance to Operators, Assemblers, etc.

· Provides setup and breakdown for meetings, as instructed.

· Provides maintenance support for restroom sinks, toilets, showers, and drains.

· Maintains grounds including snow removal as required.

· Performs related work and other duties as required.

· Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.

§ Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) for work being performed.

§ All other duties as assigned.

 

High school diploma or GED required.

§ Advanced vocational / technical training a plus.

 

Certifications/Licensing: § N/A. Years and Type of Experience: § 1 to 3 years previous maintenance mechanic experience in a fast-faced regulated manufacturing environment preferred. § Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, basic troubleshooting, building maintenance, HVAC a plus.

 

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities: § Strong mechanical and machine aptitude. § Understanding of tools such as calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices. § Operation and knowledge general power equipment. § Experience operating machine shop equipment to require specification, including CNC machine centers, etc. § Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), e-mail and Internet. § Employs a methodical approach to maintenance tasks and issues, ability to prioritize a must. § Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. § Strong excellent interpersonal skills.
