Scope of Role

Dentsply Sirona's Waltham, MA location is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the DS cloud-based offerings and drive systematic implementation of services and components with best practices.

 

Responsibilities for Employment

  • Write high quality code based on our architecture and technical standards.
  • Provide technical leadership to product features, identify weakness, minimize technical debts and recommend improvements.
  • Drive technical implementations for seamless realization of business needs and features.
  • Dive into source code, realize best practices and provide high test coverage.
  • Close collaboration with TechLead and PO.
  • Clarify assignment by reviewing and negotiating requirements.
  • Realize a solution for the assignment by identifying and analyzing alternatives.
  • Plan own work by creating WBS and estimating effort and time needed for each subtask.
  • Report status of own current work, raise issues.
  • Write effective code.
  • Fix defects in implementation.
  • Perform high quality code reviews.
  • Support the product owner in defining epics, writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensures unit and integration test coverage.
  • Collaborate with other teams and define APIs.
  • Follow the current state-of-the-art technology, read papers or attend conferences.
  • Mentors and coaches software engineers in the team.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education:  

BS, MS or PhD in computer science or related engineering discipline

 

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 6+ years as a software engineer.
  • History of delivered commercially successful software products.
  • Experience building successful commercial SaaS and/or PaaS.
  • Experience in full stack development is big plus, building (web) multi-tiers applications from front-end to back-end.
  • Experience in CI/CD, Containerization (Docker) and Cloud Computing (e.g., GCP, Kubernetes).
  • Experience of developing in multiple languages, Golang and Dart, are plus.
  • Experience in the field of medical technology and the development of medical devices is an advantage.
  • Experience in dealing with cybersecurity requirements in the medical device environment is advantageous.
  • Experience in leading technical teams is a plus
