Job Summary:
As Global Upstream Marketing Manager for Urinary Incontinence your mission is to lead the activities to develop, launch and maintain the UI product portfolio over time, making sure our products bring commercial value. As such, you have an overall responsibility of said product(s) during the whole product life cycle. Together with colleagues within Upstream UI team you are the marketing and commercial fuel for development and innovation, you are the commercial lead in NPD projects and involved throughout the whole phase gate processes until completion of successful product launches.
You will conduct market research, act as the voice of the customer (VOC), and collaborate with downstream marketing, commercial ops, clinical, and market access teams to gather intelligence and develop business cases and Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies. You will define brand architecture, develop pricing strategies, and drive global launch plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility of development and maintenance of the UI product portfolio.
- Fuel the WHC innovation team with ideas to develop the UI product portfolio to grow commercial value (30% of time).
- Conduct relevant market research and serve as the voice of the customer to efficiently drive and steer the commercialization in NPD projects.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor products and activities through collaborate within commercial org and MAMA.
- Collect intelligence from and engage with commercial organisation to provide input on needs, product upgrades, portfolio gaps, and funnel these to ConDev team.
- Lead the commercialization of new products within NPD process, from NPD initiation until successful launch.
- Own NPD Business Case together with finance and project leaders.
- Develop, manage and ensure the accuracy of product claims matrix, handle the associated approval process and routing.
- Define brand architecture and product positioning for respective products and work in partnership with central downstream marketing to develop a cohesive brand identity.
- Establish pricing strategies for respective products.
- Develop and oversee the execution of global launch plans.
- Manage the entire product portfolio lifecycle, ensuring that product development, upgrades, and phasing out are aligned with market needs.
- Serve as the owner of product data sheets, ensuring accuracy and managing the LRC process and routing for all relevant products.
- Act and serve as the product expert internally and externally, meaning be the go-to person for product-related questions, providing e.g. expert opinions for product/portfolio related questions, provide support in the form of train the trainer for your product(s) etc.
- Championing the Wellspect Culture Vision.
Education Requirements:
- An academic background (M.Sc./B.Sc.) in Product Management, Business economics, Marketing or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience working in/with product development and/or product management and/or innovation processes, marketing and/or sales.
- Full command of the English language
- Have multinational company experience preferably from medical device sector or pharmaceuticals.
Skills and Capabilities:

- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and operational skills to work cross-functionally across departments, aligning marketing, sales, and operations teams to gather insights and ensure the successful execution of global launch plans and market readiness.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate market and competitive insights into actionable strategies that guide product development and commercialization.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to convey insights, feedback, and recommendations to cross functional teams.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of financial modelling and business case development to evaluate the commercial viability of NPD projects.
- Branding: Proficiency in defining and developing cohesive brand identities for individual products and entire portfolios.
Overall, a combination of strategic thinking, market insight, commercial acumen, project management, and cross-functional collaboration is required to perform these tasks effectively.
The base salary for this remote role is between $150,000 - $165,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
