The Application Service Analyst (ASA) is responsible for the overall support, stability, and continuous improvement of software applications used within the Atlantis and Simplant manufacturing environment. This role serves as the key interface between Software Development, IT and Operations, ensuring that all applications critical to production and manufacturing processes are effectively maintained, deployed, and supported to meet the demands of our short lead-time, custom manufacturing setting.

 

The ASA ensures operational stability during all software implementations and upgrades by coordinating end-user training, validation activities, and structured deployment efforts in close alignment with Software Development, IT, Software Quality, and local Operations teams. The role is accountable for leading local support of production software systems, resolving issues efficiently. The ASA will coordinate with other team members to drive improvements in the development, testing, validation, release and support processes. This helps to reduce downtime, enhance system performance, and lower long-term support and upgrade costs. Also collaborates with Operations to ensure open issues and ongoing support activities are effectively managed, enabling timely decisions that support on-time delivery, product quality, and a strong customer experience in this fast-paced, highly customized production environment.

 

In addition to application support, the role also includes a strong on-site IT infrastructure support component. The ASA collaborates closely with the dedicated DIS IT infrastructure resources (located in Sweden) to ensure quick resolution of on-site IT issues, support workstation lifecycle management, oversee local network and data center maintenance, and ensure IT standards and policies are adhered to. The ASA acts as a local point of contact for broader IT initiatives and escalations.

 

Overall, the Application Service Analyst ensures that all digital tools and systems supporting production are reliable, well-maintained, and continuously improved to support operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

 

What Will You Do - Responsibilities for Employment

Works closely with the Application Project Managers (APMs) to transition software from the Development- to Production Phase (rollout).

Create and maintain documentation used by other Application Support roles, including ASMs globally, Operations Engineers, and IT staff.

Establish and coordinate the implementation and support of all necessary components sufficient to perform complete system validation of software applications used in Production, which includes Infrastructure and supporting software / hardware where applicable.

Lead the deployment of these Software Applications to the Production floor in coordination with other IT staff, Operations staff, and Software Development.

Provide all levels of production related software support to completion, including coordination with groups both on- and off-site where needed.

Review open issues and communicate with end users, both for status updates periodically and resolution when available.

Maintain outstanding “client” relationship by diagnosing local user needs and working closely with the development managers to ensure that the final product/solution is of appropriate quality and meets or exceeds expectations.

Manage and coordinate day-to-day production support and work closely with Operations and Software Development to incorporate new features stemming from systemic support issues and/or bugs are addressed in a timely fashion and in accordance to customer expectations.

Works with Operations Engineering and Software Development teams

Will work with peers ASMs to coordinate and streamline similar processes as well as resolve global issues common to multiple sites (including but not limited to the Atlantis suite).

Attend regular meetings with local and global Operations, APM, and users to coordinate activities and relay information to the IT team locally.
