Production Development Engineer - Design for Manufacturing and Production Process Development

About the position

As a Production Development Engineer, you will be a key contributor in the development of new and improved production methods and processes, with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and production process development.

We are proud to operate production sites in Sweden and Türkiye, featuring chemical processes, multiple transport systems, assembly and packaging lines, as well as an order-controlled batch production. To achieve efficient, robust and scalable production, we design and develop our products and production lines in parallel throughout all phases of the product development process.

This makes the role of Production Development Engineer essential in strengthening our way of working with Design for Manufacturing and Design Transfer, ensuring manufacturability, quality and efficiency from early concept through industrialization.

 

Your key accountabilities are;

  • Participate in cross-functional project teams where you will lead or support both internal stakeholders/departments and external suppliers to find efficient production solutions with Design for Manufacturing as a guiding principle.
  • Collaboration with the Research and Development department to support design development, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
  • Participate and coach in equipment investment projects all the way from concept, via risk management- and requirements handling, design transfer, testing and validation to commissioning and handover.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to support the supply chain from a technical perspective, including evaluation of suppliers, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Improve our way of working with DFM (tools, structure and mindset) within Product and Process Development and Design Transfer to Manufacturing.
  • Perform training for project members, departments and stakeholders.

We believe you have;

  • an academic background, preferably in Mechanical/Automation/Industrial Design Engineering or equivalent with experience from production development
  • excellent experience of Design for Manufacturing
  • knowledge of Lean Product Development, Design Transfer and Risk Management
  • experience of project management and especially within new Product Development and Industrialization
  • knowledge of automated manufacturing process development
  • experience from working with technical specifications and external equipment suppliers
  • some experience from testing/validation, preferably within life science or other regulated industry
  • documentation and communication skills, in English as well as in Swedish
