SCOPE:
The SAP EWM Specialist enables the region’s distribution and warehousing operations to operate efficiently and effectively through the design, configuration, implementation, and support of the SAP EWM system. This role ensures the EWM platform aligns with business requirements, optimizes warehouse processes, and integrates seamlessly with the broader SAP S/4 HANA system. This position serves as a functional subject matter expert, partnering with stakeholders to stabilize, support, and evolve EWM and related systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide hands-on Level 2 technical support, training, and troubleshooting to end-users for SAP EWM across multiple locations within the region.
- Monitor EWM transactions to ensure adherence to processes and transactional and data integrity.
- Configure core EWM components including warehouse structure, master data, inbound/outbound processing, and physical inventory activities.
- Ensure accuracy and governance of critical EWM master data (e.g., storage bins, products, packaging specifications) in coordination with the master data team(s).
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP EWM and other core SAP modules and external systems, such as automation and RF devices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and warehouse operations teams to gather business requirements, analyze current processes, and identify opportunities for EWM optimization.
- Design, configure, test, and support SAP EWM functionalities, including inbound and outbound processes, internal warehouse movements, physical inventory, wave management, and labor management.
- Create detailed functional specifications for required developments and work closely with IT to test and deploy solutions. Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation for all configurations and processes. This includes developing test scripts, performing rigorous unit testing, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integration testing to ensure solution integrity and quality.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end process and data integrity.
- Create and maintain functional documentation, configuration guides, and end-user training materials.
- Conducts regular training and provides timely feedback to users to ensure adherence to processes and transactional accuracy.
- Stay up to date with the latest SAP EWM and distribution technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to monitor EWM performance metrics.
- Manage improvement initiatives across distribution and warehousing locations.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of relevant experience
YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of experience in SAP EWM, or other WMS, serving as a SME and providing hands-on support to distribution and warehousing operations.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP EWM, or other WMS, functionality, master data management, and related applications including, but not limited to, the following:
- Inbound and outbound end-to-end processes
- Experience configuring different features in EWM such as storage types and put away and stock removal strategies (eg slotting).
- Management of inbound, internal movement, and outbound processes o Palletization, consolidation, and deconsolidation
- Replenishment and wave management
- Cycle counting and physical inventory
- Batch management and serialization
- Queue & task management
- RF & automation
- Barcode label software and printing
- Reporting using SAP, or similar ERP, and Power BI
- Familiarity with SAP, or similar WMS, integration tools (eg Fiori).
- Prior experience identifying opportunities for improvement, developing actions plans, and achieving quantifiable improvements in quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Project management: Develop, implement and maintain project plans, timelines and budgets. Ensure smooth and on-time completion of project deliverables within the decided scope and budget.
- Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.) is strongly desired.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSING:
- SAP WM/EWM, or similar WMS, certification desired
