The Inventory Control Manager maintains the targeted inventory accuracy level while managing and optimizing the flow of goods within the distribution center. This role ensures the right products are available in the right quantities in the right location at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all inventory practices meet state and federal guidelines as well as pharmaceutical and medical device regulations.
  • Manage the site’s cycle count program and inventory management activities.
  • Investigate and complete root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
  • Develop and manage KPIs and dashboards to monitor and improve performance.
  • Monitor EWM transactions to ensure adherence to processes and transactional and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and warehouse operations to ensure end-to-end process and data integrity, gather business requirements, analyze current processes, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and end-user training materials including designing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, storing, and shipping activities to improve warehouse transactional accuracy.
  • Conducts regular training and provides timely feedback to users to ensure adherence to processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and governance of critical EWM master data (e.g., storage bins, products, packaging specifications) in coordination with the master data team(s).
  • Work collaboratively with the site resources and cross-functional support teams to manage improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and lead strategies to minimize financial loss by identifying slow-moving, excess, or obsolete inventory and working with key stakeholders to address.
  • Stay up to date with the latest inventory management best practices, technologies, and tools.

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong results orientation and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and timely solutions using a strong problem-solving skill set.
  • Excellent mathematical, statistical, and IT related skills as it pertains to data extraction, analysis, and modelling.
  • Ability to manage large data sets and translate into actionable information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in documentation, process mapping, and end-user training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related.

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 5+ years in inventory control or materials management role with overall responsibility for managing the site-wide programs and processes.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and tools with strong preference for in-depth knowledge of SAP EWM.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerBI.
  • Prior experience identifying opportunities for improvement, developing actions plans, and achieving quantifiable improvements.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.) is strongly desired.

Certifications/Licensing:

  • APIC certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
