As an Automation Engineer with a focus on our Automation and Production systems, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of new and improved production processes at Wellspect, Kahramankazan, Ankara.

In this role you will interact with various stakeholders, from understanding the product configuration to developing system requirements and issue technical specifications for an efficient production flow. You will also be accountable in the design of the final automated solution and its implementation to the actual production processes.

As a leading medical device manufacturer, we have strict requirements on material traceability and in-line quality control. Applying Big Data principles and developing machine learning in an Industry 4.0 spirit is also a vital part in the design and development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Industrial IT/automation project management in cross-functional development projects in various stages from concept to commissioning and handover
  • Design, risk and requirements handling as well as testing and validation of control systems for production of Medical Device products
  • Develop documentation in compliance with our quality management system built on regulatory requirements from the European medical device directive and FDA quality systems regulations
  • Integration of machine line and components with a systems perspective on process control, traceability and communication with MES/SCADA and PDM systems
  • Contribute in Wellspect’s digitization development strategy e.g. collection of data for analysis and application development
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with our internal suppliers and stakeholders as well as our external suppliers, also including evaluations and supplier visits

Background / Qualifications:

  • An academic background, preferably in automation, electrical/computer engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in production development with focus on control systems in production
  • An in-depth understanding of industry control systems and experience in programming
  • Experience from working with developing technical specifications and working with external suppliers
  • Technical project management experience
  • Experience from testing/validation, preferably within life science or other highly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, and PLC/HMI/SCADA, preferably Siemens Simatic products.
  • Knowledge of ISA 95 and ISA 88 standards are considered a plus
  • Documentation and communication skills in English.
