Digital Lab Technician - Modeling & Atlantis, Costa Rica

The Digital Modeling Production Technician will use the Virtual Aided Design software to design patient-specific modeling and/or Atlantis crown and abutment solutions for dental implant prosthetics. These solutions are created in a time-critical production environment.  The technician will design to known and trained to principals guided by the customer order and specific dental understanding and conventions. Issues and limitations will be communicated to the customer per process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use computer monitors to visualize three-dimensional models. The technician will manipulate the virtual images in the design and production software to meet or exceed the customers’ requirements. The technician will participate in all relevant training to be able to offer value to the products and support the customers.
• Troubleshoot difficulties in the process using established procedures.
• Make decisions regarding necessary design modifications based on the customer's provided and stored information.
• Understand and apply dental principals in a CAD environment. The technician will adhere to all relevant regulations and policies and achieve all relevant quality, service and productivity goals.
• Meet the target production goals other duties as assigned and required to allow the Abutment Design Dept meet its goals. Meet and exceed all minimum production requirements designated by the Digital Lab Manager.
• ADT's will follow work instructions to complete cases and process all work related issues. All process outlined in work instructions will be adhered to.
• Participate in all improvement efforts as needed for the support of the process both for Development and Operations.  
• Training for excellence in design and dental appropriateness will be ongoing and will be the responsibility of the Atlantis Design Technician to comprehend, and as needed applied in the graphic program for medically acceptable prosthetics based on the customers input and internal standards.   
• Maintain and renew all Digital Lab certifications annually. All relevant training programs are required to be completed successfully with specialties as: Technical, Supraestructure, Azento, Guided Surgery and any other assigned by the company. 
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis, including but not limited to cross – training in other SC departments / areas / products (ie scanning, 3D Printing COE, PC OV, PC order change, PTS, SureSmile Modeling, etc and any other DS product for a digital modeling skills technician).   
• Balance production also with SureSmile products/services as per the Company requests regarding inventory needs. 
• Might be required to perform in more than one product / software, being allocated as per business priorities, according to their immediate supervisor guidance. 
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis, may be assigned from time to time at supervisor’s discretion.

Typical Background:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent. 
• Diploma or degree as Dental Technician is a plus.
• General knowledge of dental anatomy and tooth surfaces. 
• Prior digital dental software experience 
• Ability and experience in a CAD environment is required, 3- Graphic Design is a plus.  
• Degree or certification in Computer Graphics, software systems a plus but not required. 
• Excellent computer proficiency

 Qualifications:

• Must be able to view and work in a 3-dimensional space to create 3-D volumetric shapes.
• Must be able to use multiple devices, 3-D space ball, Mouse and keyboard to realize graphic solutions.  
• Must be able to understand and apply dental principals. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  
• Minimum B1+ English level (if reading and listening comprehension is B2)
• Excellent time management skills 
• Ability to be receptive to constructive feedback. 
• Ability to learn from mistakes. 
• Can solve small-medium sized problems independently and can contribute to solving larger problems as a team.
