CAD/CAM Product Manager

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the development and market adaptation of dental products for Japan, with an emphasis on market forecasting to drive data-informed decisions. This role is central to ensuring our products are tailored to meet local needs, follow regulatory guidelines, and are launched with precision timing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Japanese dental industry, experience in product management, and proven skills in forecasting market trends and demand. You will collaborate with R&D, regulatory, marketing, and sales teams to deliver impactful and innovative dental solutions in Japan.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Product Strategy & Localization: Define and manage the product roadmap, aligning it with the company’s global strategy while adapting it to the unique requirements of the Japanese market.
  • Market Research & Forecasting: Conduct in-depth market research, including competitive analysis and customer segmentation, to forecast product demand and identify growth opportunities in the Japanese dental market.
  • Product Development: Partner with R&D and dental experts to develop innovative solutions tailored to Japan, such as dental equipment, digital tools, and advanced treatment options.
  • Demand Forecasting & Sales Planning: Develop sales forecasts based on market analysis, historical data, and customer feedback to help set realistic revenue goals and ensure inventory aligns with demand.
  • Regulatory Compliance in Japan: Ensure that products comply with Japanese regulations and secure necessary approvals from bodies like the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW) and PMDA.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between Japan-based teams and global departments, ensuring effective communication of market needs, product requirements, and timelines.
  • Product Launch & Localization: Coordinate product launches, developing go-to-market strategies tailored to the Japanese audience in collaboration with sales and marketing.
  • Customer Feedback & Product Iteration: Gather and analyze feedback from Japanese dental professionals and patients to identify improvement opportunities and inform future product iterations.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyze product performance using KPIs specific to the Japan market, producing regular forecasts and reports for senior management to guide strategic decisions.
  • Japanese Dental Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on trends, advancements, and challenges within the Japanese dental industry, including patient needs and emerging dental technologies.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; dental sciences or healthcare background is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, preferably within the dental, medical device, or healthcare industries, with direct experience in the Japan market.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Japanese (native or fluent) and English (business level), with strong communication skills in both languages.
  • Forecasting & Analytical Skills: Proven experience in forecasting, data analysis, and market research with the ability to create actionable insights and product demand projections.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Japanese regulatory processes, including MHLW and PMDA requirements for medical devices.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience in Agile/Scrum development.
  • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of the Japanese dental market, with a passion for creating solutions that meet the needs of dental professionals and patients in Japan.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in working with Japanese regulatory bodies for medical devices.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM and imaging technologies popular in Japanese dental practices.
  • Experience with forecasting tools and product management platforms such as Jira, Confluence, and analytics software.
