This position will be key contributor in preparation and filing of all external financial reporting documents and related SEC filings and will also assist Technical Accounting and Corporate Accounting functions. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives with challenging opportunities and strict deadlines on a consistent basis. Position is based at Company headquarters in Charlotte, NC with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q and 10- K) and current reports (8-K).
- Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports; prepare support files; challenge the appropriateness of disclosures; complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires.
- Review referenced reports for compliance with SEC reporting XBRL requirements.
- Prepare monthly analysis and journal entry for the elimination of intercompany profit in inventory (PII). Resolve questions and provide insights on impact to gross margin. Collaborate with Supply Chain and FP&A to understand inventory trends.
- Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, FASB, PCAOB, or other regulators and prepare necessary memos and documentation under direction of Technical Accounting.
- Develop and maintain annual statutory audit tracker and report status to CAO and Assistant Corporate Controller
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures. Prepare quarterly memo regarding new accounting standards under direction of Technical Accounting.
- Assist with month-end close and financial statement review including key accounting matters across global accounting team.
- Coordinate key audit deliverables for financial reporting with internal and external auditors to ensure Company compliance with SOX standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management
- 3 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Workiva/Wdesk, Hyperion and SAP
- Experience working in large global company with expansive legal entity structure and consolidation
- Advanced technical accounting knowledge and communication skills
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures—in a SOX environment
