Summary: This position will be key contributor in preparation of corporate accounting tasks, financial reporting deliverables, and technical accounting projects. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives with challenging opportunities and strict deadlines on a consistent basis. Position is based at the Company headquarters in Charlotte, NC with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for key month-end close deliverables, including journal entry preparation, submission for consolidation, account reconciliations, and variance to forecast analysis.
- Work collaboratively with various departments and international accounting teams to collect information for corporate forecasts and reporting workstreams.
- Assist in finance transformation initiatives and drive process improvement in the financial reporting process.
- Assist in preparation and analysis of the Company’s statement of cash flows.
- Coordinate key audit deliverables for financial reporting with internal and external auditors to ensure Company compliance with SOX standards.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q and 10- K) and current reports (8-K) where needed. Work with various personnel and departments to collect relevant information.
- Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting standards by the SEC and FASB.
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of policies and procedures.
- Prepare quarterly segment allocation analysis for P&L and review with management.
- Assist with the analysis of global transactions required to eliminate intercompany profit in inventory (PII).
- Assist in the training and coaching of the Company’s rotating finance development resources.
- Perform ad hoc requests for the corporate accounting and SEC team projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting, auditing, or financial reporting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
- Highly proficient in understanding of US GAAP
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA highly preferred
- Masters of accounting or MBA
- 2+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with Big Four or National firm, or
- 2+ years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience with a large, multinational company
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working in large global company with expansive legal entity structure and consolidation
- Ability to think critically and lead projects with limited direction
- Technical accounting knowledge and communication skills
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures in a SOX environment
- Experience with Workiva, Microsoft AX, SAP, Hyperion or OneStream a plus
