The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Director, Controller-Byte and provides high-level support across multiple teams, departments or locations. The position is primarily responsible for assisting the Director with all aspects of accounting related activities depending on the project objectives related to acquisitions, divestitures, system integrations, etc. The responsibilities may include, but not limited to, related financial reporting (internal and external), SOX compliance, and adherence to CFAM and US GaaP. The Senior Accountant position concentrates on timely processing of accounting tasks, analysis of critical operational \ financial data and when appropriate, monthly financial closing activities. The position supports the Director in meeting the overall project plan objectives in a timely manner and acts as a business partner across multiple functions in a collaborative manner. Additionally, the role may assist the VP, America’s Accounting in accounting activities across multiple locations and legal entities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Works under the direct supervision of the Director, Controller-Byte.
· Assists with America’s acquisitions, divestitures, integrations, and other special projects as needed. Projects included but not limited to:
Project 1: Byte Wind down
· Primarily responsible for the timely preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including preparation of the corporate parent's required monthly financial reporting package.
· Performs/supervises aspects of monthly financial close. Assists the Director with the preparation of special reports as required by the location’s management and\or from the Corporate Controller’s or Treasurer’s departments.
· Reviews the monthly balance sheet, income statement and all supporting schedules and accounts to ensure financial accuracy and when necessary, prepares correcting entries to ensure integrity of reported data.
· Ensures the accuracy of monthly financial data that is uploaded into the corporate Hyperion financial consolidation. Analyses monthly\quarterly\year to date and annual results.
· Responsible for General Ledger maintenance including proper GL coding of transactions and account reconciliation and analysis.
· Assists the Director in answering all financial queries\information requests from internal management and from internal \ external auditors.
· Performing GAAP research and analysis of significant accounting transactions.
· Assist in the final submission of US, Costa Rica, and Australian tax reporting packages for corporate tax department.
· Responsible for coordinating and maintaining all SOX initial testing, remediation activity and documentation requirements into the corporate SOX tracking system.
· Responsible for the maintenance of system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
Project 2 – S4 GL and DEP reconciliations
· Assist US01 local accounting team to complete S4-GL and DEP reconciliations of revenue and cot post S-4 implementations thru collaboration with local and DEP resources.
Other Responsibilies and Projects as assigned across the America’s locations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related discipline
· Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, preferred.
· Professional certification in accounting (CPA) or Audit (CIA) that is actively maintained
· Minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in related function
· Foundational experience in Big 4 public accounting firm; large multi-national public company accounting experience preferred
