Job Summary

The Deal Desk Pricing Analyst supports the structuring, evaluation, and execution of pricing decisions across customer deals, contracts, and commercial programs. This role sits at the center of the sales process, partnering closely with Sales, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure deals are competitively positioned, financially sound, and aligned with company pricing policies.

 

The position combines deal-level pricing execution with strong analytical and data capabilities, enabling efficient decision-making, improved deal quality, and scalable pricing processes. The analyst will leverage data, systems, and tools to support pricing approvals, optimize deal structures, and enhance visibility into commercial performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with Sales teams to structure pricing proposals, quotes, and contract terms that align with customer needs and business objectives
  • Evaluate deal economics, including discounts, rebates, and volume assumptions, to assess profitability, risk, and trade-offs
  • Support day-to-day pricing approvals and exception management, ensuring adherence to pricing policies and governance frameworks
  • Review and validate pricing within sales quotes, contracts, and proposals to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Translate complex deal structures into clear financial implications and actionable recommendations for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations to support deal execution across the full lifecycle (quote → contract → booking)
  • Extract and analyze data from CRM, ERP, and pricing tools to support deal evaluation and reporting
  • Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to track deal performance, pricing trends, and business insights
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing workflows, tools, and approval processes through automation and better system utilization
  • Support post-deal analysis to assess performance, identify trends, and inform future pricing strategies

 

Years and Type of Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, deal desk, sales operations, or commercial finance
  • Experience supporting sales processes, deal structuring, quoting, or pricing analysis preferred
  • Exposure to working with large datasets, reporting tools, or business systems
  • Familiarity with sales, pricing, or contract workflows is a plus

 

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess deal economics and financial trade-offs
  • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, data manipulation, scenario analysis)
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
  • Exposure to SQL, Databricks, or data querying tools preferred
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, CPQ tools, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in pricing, contracts, and data
  • Strong communication skills; able to effectively partner with Sales and present insights clearly
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple deals and priorities simultaneously
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally and support a sales-driven organization

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Coursework or exposure to financial modeling, data analytics, or business intelligence is a plus
