General Ledger Supervisor (Record to Report)
The Global Business Services organization provides a suite of financial and accounting services to Dentsply Sirona businesses worldwide. We are looking for a General Ledger Supervisor who will oversee day-to-day financial record keeping, reporting, and analysis for assigned entities.
In this role, you will supervise a team of General Ledger Accountants & Specialists and ensure timely execution of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. You will collaborate closely with local finance teams, corporate accounting, and other GBS functions to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality GL results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide a team responsible for General Ledger tasks within the Center of Excellence (COE).
- Establish work priorities, set team goals, assign tasks, and conduct performance reviews.
- Manage workload to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and overall service quality.
- Maintain and communicate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close calendars and checklists.
- Review and approve standard and complex journal entries in line with accounting policies and procedures.
- Review complex GL account reconciliations, including resolution of aged balances and follow-up with local finance teams.
- Coordinate journal entry processing and ensure completeness and accuracy of close deliverables.
- Act as a key contact for controllers and accounting managers during the close process.
- Act as a trusted consultant to Corporate and local finance teams for the most complex entities.
- Collaborate with local finance, tax, treasury, internal audit, and other GBS teams to resolve posting errors or process issues.
- Respond to inquiries related to adjustments, special journal entries, and close-related matters.
- Escalate process or procedural issues that conflict with Dentsply Sirona or GBS objectives.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on process issues and drive corrective actions.
- Support process enhancements and improvement initiatives led by Global Process Owners (GPOs).
- Participate in — and occasionally lead — the design, testing, and implementation of new tools, automations, and process improvements.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a shared services or multinational environment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a team is a strong advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience with business accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of business process design and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, global environment undergoing process and technology transformation.
- Flexibility and willingness to drive change.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and relevant statutory requirements.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian) are a plus.
