NPI Procurement Manager (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Execute NPI sourcing strategies aligned with category strategies, cost targets, and overall business objectives.
- Drive early procurement engagement to influence design-to-cost, supplier selection, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Ensure end-to-end sourcing plan execution, securing timely inputs and deliverables from R&D, Category teams, and suppliers.
- Coordinate and support supplier selection activities led by Category Managers, ensuring competitiveness, technical capability, and strategic alignment.
- Bridge prototype-to-production sourcing by collaborating with Global Procurement to address technology gaps, supplier capabilities, and industrialization readiness.
- Enforce procurement best practices, including multi-sourcing, preferred supplier utilization, contract coverage, and compliance with purchasing policies and controls.
- Ensure alignment with supplier onboarding and master data requirements, including accurate and timely setup in systems (e.g., DS Master Data parameters).
- Proactively identify sourcing risks and operational issues, driving the resolution of supplier-related challenges during New Product Development (NPD).
- Communicate effectively and escalate critical issues in a timely manner, maintaining accountability for sourcing deliverables and project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for value creation and process improvement, proposing actionable solutions and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
- Contribute to category strategy development by incorporating NPD insights into long-term sourcing strategies and action plans.
- Operate within governance frameworks, ensuring full compliance with procurement processes, tools, and internal controls.
- Drive personal and functional excellence by setting annual performance and development goals aligned with business priorities.
Competencies and qualification
- Master's degree preferred, or Bachelor's degree with significant relevant work experience.
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or at least 5 years of project management experience.
- Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS) certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement or other relevant experience within a global supply chain environment.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Proven project management experience.
- Experience supporting Procurement activities within the New Product Development (NPD) process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, and resolve conflicts.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and interpret data and draw sound conclusions.
- Fluent written and spoken English and German.
- Availability to work flexibly across multiple time zones.
- Experience with BOM Master Data parameters and BOM Master Data setup (nice to have)
- Experience in the medical device or dental industry (nice to have)
