Global Category Manager - Packaging (m/wd)
The GCM will be responsible for developing and communicating the execution of the global category strategy spanning multiple divisions/franchises/locations. Drive compliance to preferred supply base and purchasing channel to realize saving goals. Manage mutli-year category plan and respective contracts. Manage category spend (circa $20M)
Additionally, the GCM will be responsible for taking the lead, among all Packaging GCMs, on the strategy and targets definition / progression, related to:
- Dual sourcing
- Best Cost Country suppliers and spend
- Engagement on NPI projects
- Usage of e-sourcing tools (eRFx)
- Sustainability
Responsibilities
- Suppliers’ selection, identifying the need, new potential suppliers, RFI, support Audit when possible
- Supplier performance management, supplier innovation contribution and continuous improvement of supply base.
- Prepare and execute RFI’s, RFQ’s, and negotiations. Ensure timely and compliant implementation of new contracts and manage supplier agreements through contract life. Use e-sourcing tool for at least 50% of the RFI / RFP
- Identify and drive procurement projects to deliver cost savings and ensure project plans and related savings are documented and maintained in required project/savings tracking tool.
- Engage with Procurement COE to ensure proper classification of category spend.
- Develop supplier innovation, capacities & capabilities
- Identify and develop suppliers in Best Cost Countries
- Proactive analysis of market conditions (supply market trends, macroeconomic indicators, regulatory changes, etc.) and supply base to identify and address potential risks and opportunities.
- Employ a total delivered cost framework and approach to achieve total value improvement
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers (strategic vendor management, SRM)
- communication to management & stakeholders (Market trends, indicators, etc)
- Build relationships and partner closely with key business stakeholders (e.g. Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing) to understand current and future business requirements, strategy, challenges, opportunities and proactively address.
- Communicate overall market & category trends/results to management and stakeholders
- Supplier improvements /performance (through supplier scorecards & actions plan implementation)
- Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers.
- Contribute to the definition/implementation of best-in-class tools, procedures, process, spend management & classification, and other projects led by the COE
- Support (or lead when needed) change control and implementation of changes
- Support and represent Packaging Category in all Sustainability Initiatives. Liason between Procurement and programs identified by the Sustainability Packaging Team
- Support NPI / NPD
- Develop a strategy & a roll-out plan for the category to increase spend being dual-sourced and spend sourced in best cost countries
- Take the lead over the other GCMs to propose a global category target and actions plan on dual sourcing, BCC, usage of e-sourcing tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
- MBA (desired)
- Certifications/Licensing: CPP, CPM, CPP, SPSM (desired)
- 6+ years in Procurement or Supply Chain with Commodity/Category management experience
- Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

- Able to effectively manage/lead virtual teams

- Able to manage multiple projects & priorities

- Prove track record in delivering cost savings/results
- Fluent English language skills
- German and/or Italian desireable
- Integrated Management System (SMI) Statement
