Senior Embedded Engineer – Control Systems & Software Development (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities – Depending on Your Focus:

 

Embedded Software Engineering

  • Develop algorithms and workflows in C++

  • Program low-level software in close collaboration with adjacent departments

  • Create and expand component and module tests

  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve development processes

  • Monitor and analyze software quality and initiate measures to ensure it

 

Embedded Firmware / Control Systems

  • Design and develop control systems for medical devices (e.g., drives, ovens, instrument control)

  • Select and implement suitable control strategies for various physical systems

  • Harmonize control concepts across product lines to improve efficiency and reusability

  • Apply model-based development approaches (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink)

  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate and validate control systems

 

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Several years of experience developing embedded systems, ideally in the medical technology sector

  • Strong knowledge of C++ and/or digital control engineering

  • Experience with Embedded Linux, MATLAB/Simulink, and model-based development is a plus

  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and their use in safety-critical systems

  • Enjoy working in agile teams and tackling complex technical challenges

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
